Amir Khasru said that the BNP is determined to implement its 31-point reform plan, regardless of political consensus. “Whether there is consensus or not, BNP will implement its commitments. Electoral alliance partners should have the freedom to contest with their preferred symbols. However, no reform will bring results unless the political culture changes,” he stated.

Emphasizing the need for inclusive policymaking, the BNP leader said, “Policy formulation should not be the task of bureaucrats alone. Those directly concerned must participate. A new economic model should be included in the main national plan — one that ensures participation and opportunity for all. BNP is promising a democratic economy. If it comes to power, BNP will establish a new economic model focused on empowering grassroots economic contributors.”

Outlining several development priorities, Amir Khasru announced that sports complexes will be built in every region, accommodating various types of sports. “A large theater district will also be established in Dhaka, where artists will work and perform. To attract investment, we must create a favorable environment. The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) must include private sector representatives,” he added.

Calling for the independence of the Bangladesh Bank, the BNP policymaker said, “The central bank must function as a watchdog. Political parties should not directly run the government — institutions should. To truly serve the people, these institutions must be made independent.”

He further asserted that BNP has historically refrained from political interference in financial institutions. “During BNP’s tenure, there was no corruption or looting in the banking or stock market sectors. We are coming forward with a comprehensive plan. Under the new structure, there will be no separate banking division,” he said.

Amir Khasru concluded by reiterating that BNP’s proposed reforms aim to build a democratic, transparent, and inclusive economy capable of empowering citizens at every level of society.
