The warning, issued for the country’s inland river ports until 1 am, was signed by Meteorologist Khandaker Hafizur Rahman. It said that temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the southeast or east at speeds of 45–60 kilometers per hour may affect Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar districts.

Along with the strong winds, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in these areas. River ports in the affected regions have been advised to hoist warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, another weather bulletin from the Meteorological Office forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in all divisions of the country until Sunday (October 12) morning.

The bulletin further stated that moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in parts of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions during this time. However, the overall rainfall trend is expected to decrease gradually across the country afterward.

It also mentioned that the southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from Bangladesh by the end of the week, marking the transition toward the post-monsoon season.
