“Jamaat does not engage in the politics of promises alone we are committed to ensuring that our words are reflected in our actions,” he said. “We will not compromise with anyone in our effort to build a just and fair society and free the nation from corruption and misrule.”

Dr. Rahman made these remarks on Friday night while addressing a friendly rally organized by his supporters at Pirerbagh Jhilpar in Mirpur under Dhaka-15 constituency.

The event was chaired by Jamaat Central Working Committee member and Dhaka Metropolitan North Nayeb-e-Amir Abdur Rahman Musa and moderated by Mirpur East Police Station Working Committee member Saiful Islam. Among others present were Dhaka Metropolitan North Working Committee members Shah Alam Tuhin and Md. Shahidullah, Kafrul Zone Assistant Director Jasim Uddin, and Mirpur East Police Station Secretary Wahidul Islam Sadi.

Criticizing the culture of political deception, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Before elections, some leaders promise to turn Bangladesh into America or Canada. But after elections, those promises disappear. The people of this country have been deceived repeatedly over the past 54 years. It is time to say no to these deceivers. We must judge future actions based on past and present records not on mere words.”

He urged voters to remain vigilant and united, saying, “We have to work together to build a welfare-oriented state that ensures justice, dignity, and equal opportunity for all.”

Dr. Rahman also spoke strongly about national sovereignty, stating, “Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign country. We will not allow anyone to dictate our policies. We will neither accept anyone as a guardian nor bow down to any external power. Our foreign policy will be based on friendship and equality with all, enmity with none.”

He emphasized developing self-reliant youth who do not depend on the government for survival. “If the people entrust us with governing the country, we will nurture a confident new generation capable of contributing to national progress. We want to create youth who will support the government’s development efforts voluntarily and patriotically,” he said.

Calling for a collective effort to ensure Jamaat’s victory in the upcoming national elections, he added, “Only by establishing honest and capable leadership can we build a peaceful, dynamic, and prosperous society.”

Reflecting on the nation’s slow progress, Dr. Rahman noted, “For too long, we have been held back by the weight of the past. While other nations advanced, we lagged behind. Now is the time for change. We must take positive initiatives to transform the fate of our people and move forward with clear plans and implementation.”

Expressing his vision for a better future, he said, “If Allah grants us the opportunity to form a government, we will establish a humane Bangladesh by promoting moral and modern education, ensuring justice for all, and maintaining respectful relations with all civilized nations.”

Earlier in the day, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman offered Jumu’ah prayers at Pirerbagh Chapra Mosque, Asr prayers at Baitul Arafa Mosque, and Maghrib prayers at Barabagh Gausia Mosque. After each prayer, he delivered brief speeches to worshippers and exchanged greetings. Following the Maghrib prayers, he addressed a gathering organized by Jamaat at West Manipur.

In his concluding speech, he said, “True welfare cannot be achieved through man-made laws. For peace in this world and salvation in the hereafter, we must return to the ideals of the Quran and Sunnah.” He also urged the country’s youth to remain steadfast and uncompromising in ensuring the victory of Jamaat’s election symbol — the scale to build a just and value-based society.
