Since the beginning of the year, a total of 15,210 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals. The country has seen a total of 58 deaths from the disease so far in 2024. This marks a worrying trend, as the number of deaths and infections continues to rise, exacerbating the ongoing public health crisis.

For comparison, during the entire year of 2023, dengue affected 321,179 people, and tragically, 1,705 individuals lost their lives to the virus. The previous year, 2024, also saw a high number of dengue infections, with 101,214 reported cases and 575 deaths.
