The information was shared by Dr. Mahdi Amin, advisor to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday (November 29).
Dr. Amin wrote that Tarique Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, have already contacted hospitals and physicians in London who previously oversaw Khaleda Zia’s treatment and contributed to her significant recovery over the past four months.
He stated that Khaleda Zia remains at the center of the emotions and expectations of the people of Bangladesh. Although she is currently admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, her treatment is being monitored by both local and foreign specialist doctors. Tarique Rahman and Dr. Zubaida are maintaining virtual communication from London to ensure timely and accurate medical decisions.
Dr. Amin noted that Dr. Zubaida Rahman, a key member of the medical board formed for Khaleda Zia’s treatment, is coordinating efforts at home and abroad. Tarique Rahman, he added, is supervising each step with utmost care and determination to ensure that no delay or limitation affects his mother’s treatment.
Expressing optimism about Khaleda Zia’s health, Dr. Amin said, “After receiving advanced treatment, she will once again inspire the people of the country, guide her children and loved ones, and unite the nation as she always has. Today, the hopes, prayers, and emotions of the entire nation rest on this strong belief.”
