He submitted the complaint to the DB Cyber Unit on Monday afternoon (December 1). After filing the complaint, he briefed journalists at the DB office gate, where several DUCSU leaders were also present.
According to the complaint, the accused platforms include eight Facebook pages-DUCSU Kanthaswar, BongoGraph, Amar DUCSU, The Nationalist Data, Kantherkella, Roumari, DU Insiders and Yorki along with three personal IDs belonging to Enamul Haque Shanto, Ashikur Rahman and Saif Al Mahmud.
During the briefing, Sadiq Kayem said, “Each of these pages is associated with a political party. Activists of Chhatra Dal and BNP operate them. We have submitted their links to the DB. Cyber experts have already started working and have requested BRTC to take necessary steps.”
He also announced that a cyber support center will soon be established at Shahbagh Police Station to allow students to report online propaganda, cyberbullying and harassment more freely. DUCSU has also launched a digital complaint box, where the Law and Human Rights Secretary will review complaints and take action accordingly.
Referring to the page "BongoGraph," he said, “Even yesterday, they spread false propaganda against me. Later, they expressed regret. However, all pages and IDs responsible for misinformation have been included in the complaint. Law enforcement will take appropriate action.”
Sadiq added that a copy of the complaint will also be submitted to Shahbagh Police Station.
“I hope those who are involved in cyberbullying or harassing students, candidates or my sisters will face exemplary punishment. This will help stop such misconduct,” he said.
