The accident occurred on Friday (January 9) at around 1:15 pm in the Baniapara area of Daudkandi upazila of Comilla on the highway. Among the deceased are two children, a woman and a man. The names and identities of the victims were not immediately available.
Daudkandi Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Iqbal Bahar confirmed the matter.
According to police sources, the bus leaving Dhaka on the Chittagong-bound lane hit a motorcycle moving in the same lane in Baniapara area of Daudkandi upazila of Comilla. The motorcycle driver and a woman and two children in the bus died on the spot.
OC Iqbal Bahar told, "We are working to identify the deceased. After the accident, fire service personnel controlled the fire. The bus has been recovered. Traffic movement on the highway is normal."
