The report stated that between 8 a.m. on Sunday (November 2) and 8 a.m. on Monday (November 3), 266 new patients were admitted in Dhaka division 145 of them under the Dhaka South City Corporation. Outside the capital, 132 cases were reported in Barishal division, 98 in Chattogram, 70 in Rajshahi, 65 in Mymensingh, 59 in Khulna, 19 in Rangpur, and 9 in Sylhet division.

During the 24-hour period, three deaths were recorded in Dhaka division, while one death each was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and Rajshahi division.

Since January 1, a total of 288 people have died of dengue across Bangladesh, according to DGHS data. The highest number of fatalities 137 occurred in the Dhaka South City Corporation area. In addition, 43 deaths were reported in Dhaka North, 40 in Barishal, 25 in Chattogram, 16 in Rajshahi, 12 in Mymensingh, 8 in Khulna, 6 in Dhaka division, and 1 in Sylhet division.

Last year, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths, marking one of the deadliest dengue outbreaks in the country’s history.
