The information was announced by the EC on Thursday (November 6). Earlier, on September 28, the Commission had published a preliminary list of 73 local election observation organizations eligible to monitor the national polls. Following the objection and verification process, the EC finalized and approved 66 of them.

According to the EC, registrations of 96 local observer organizations which were previously approved before the 12th National Parliament elections have been automatically canceled under Section 16 of the Election Observation Policy 2025. The Commission has also invited applications from eligible non-governmental organizations (NGOs) interested in becoming registered election observers in line with the new policy.

Interested organizations must submit their applications using the Local Observer Registration Application Form (EO-1) to the Senior Secretary of the Election Commission by 5 pm on August 10 (Sunday).

The Election Observation Policy 2025, the official registration notice, and the application form (EO-1) are available at the Public Relations Section of the EC Secretariat (Room No. 105) and on the official EC website (www.ecs.gov.bd).

Earlier, the Nasir Uddin Commission issued a new set of policies, repealing the 2023 guidelines and canceling the registration of 96 observer organizations that had been approved under the previous Awami League government before the 12th National Parliament elections. The updated 2025 policy has now been finalized to regulate the registration and activities of domestic election observers for the upcoming polls.
