Mirza Fakhrul shared the update while speaking to reporters after a prayer and munajat held at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan following Jumma prayers on Friday (November 28).
“Begum Khaleda Zia’s contribution to the democratic movement is undeniable,” Fakhrul said. “She has struggled for democracy throughout her life, endured imprisonment, and faced persecution. Her role in establishing the rights of the people of this country will be remembered forever in history.”
He added that doctors had informed them on Thursday night that her condition had reached a critical stage. Prayers are being offered nationwide for her recovery by party leaders, activists, and well-wishers.
“On behalf of our party, prayers are being held across the country for the speedy recovery of the leader of democracy and patriot Begum Khaleda Zia,” he said. “Devotees in mosques across Bangladesh offered prayers after Jumma today, and we also prayed for her recovery at the Naya Paltan mosque.”
He added, “It is our heartfelt wish that Allah grants her a full recovery.”
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and other central leaders were also present at the prayer gathering.
