He made the remarks while responding to recommendations from the National Consensus Commission at a discussion meeting in Dhaka on Wednesday (October 29).

Mirza Fakhrul said, “The Chief Advisor has assured the people that elections will be held after implementing the reforms truly needed in Bangladesh. Through these elections, a parliament will be formed to address the country’s crises. If there is any deviation from this promise today or if actions go beyond this commitment, the Chief Advisor will bear full responsibility.”

He urged the National Consensus Commission to hold a prompt election among all parties on the points of agreement and disagreement, saying, “Through this process, we can establish a parliament representing the people and bring true democratic governance to the country.”

The discussion meeting was also attended by Jonayed Saki, chief coordinator of the Gana Sanghati Andolan; Nurul Haque Noor, president of the Gana Adhikar Parishad; Sohrab Hasan, editor of Charcha.com; Ehsan Mahmud, author; and journalist Shahnaz Munni, among others.
