After the hearing, the CEC said, "Many may criticize us. But you have seen how we have left out the issue of 1 percent voter support signatures for independent candidates. Because, we want the election to be participatory. But this is not possible without your (candidates and those concerned) cooperation."

"I can assure you on behalf of myself and my team that we did not make any judgments based on any bias. We tried to make the right decision after much deliberation and trust in Allah Almighty."

Praising the spontaneous participation of the candidates in the hearing, Nasir Uddin said, "I am impressed by the way you have conducted your queries and responded. Our scholars call it 'Bahas'. On behalf of the EC, I congratulate you for your patient behavior."

He further said, "You have been patient from morning till night, many have come before us. We are very grateful for your cooperation."

Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah said, "We have waived off the loans of defaulters with some difficulty. We are forced to legalize their candidacies only because the law has permitted them."
