He made these remarks on Saturday (August 16) at a prayer meeting and discussion program organized by Jubo Dal at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan. The event was held to mark the birth anniversary of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Salahuddin said that BNP is moving forward on the path of democracy through dialogue, following the guidance of Begum Khaleda Zia. “To build a truly democratic state, the anti-fascist forces must unite for national unity,” he emphasized.
Issuing a stern warning, Salahuddin said, “The people of this country will resist those who make excuses to delay the election. Those who obstruct the democratic process with various arguments are not a force for democracy.”
The meeting was moderated by Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan, where former Jubo Dal president Saiful Alam Nirab also delivered a speech.
Rezaul Kabir Paul, Belal Hossain Tarek, Khandaker Enamul Haque Enam, Sharif Uddin Jewel, Rabiul Islam Nayan, Sajjadul Miraj, and several others were also present at the program.
