Mashiur Rahman, chief coordinator of the protest platform Dhakabashi, made the appeal today while addressing media from Nagar Bhaban.
"We urge all DSCC staff to resume their duties so that public services are not disrupted in any way," he said.
"At the same time, we demand the immediate removal of Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the Local Government Division, for violating the constitution and defying court directives by obstructing Ishraque Hossain's oath-taking as mayor."
Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque have been protesting at Nagar Bhaban since May 14, demanding that he be sworn in as the mayor of DSCC. The following day, on May 15, his supporters locked down the city corporation headquarters, halting its operations for 40 days.
