Speaking at a press conference held at Mess Alpha in Dhaka Cantonment, Major General Hakimuzzaman said that a total of 25 army personnel have been accused in three tribunal cases. Among them, nine are retired, one is in the Leave Pending Retirement (LPR) phase, and 15 are currently in service.
He said, “After the charge sheet was filed on October 8, sixteen officers—those on LPR and those in service—were attached to the Army Headquarters. They were instructed to report by October 9. Except for Major General Kabir Ahmed, the remaining 15 have complied and are now in custody. They are currently separated from their families.”
When asked about the missing officer, Major General Hakimuzzaman said, “Major General Kabir Ahmed left his residence on the morning of October 9 and has not been located since.”
The press conference comes amid heightened attention to the tribunal cases involving alleged wartime crimes, as military authorities move to cooperate with the ongoing judicial process.
