The release stated that on Monday (November 3), BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the names of party nominees for 237 parliamentary constituencies at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.

Among those announced was Kamal Zaman Mollah, nominated for the Madaripur-1 (Shibchar Upazila) constituency. However, the press release clarified that due to unavoidable reasons, the nomination for this seat and the name of the announced candidate have been temporarily suspended.

Earlier, the BNP expelled four leaders for their involvement in anti-public interest activities — including violence, clashes, and road blockades — linked to internal disputes over the party’s nomination process.

The expulsion order, signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, was issued on Monday night (November 3).

The expelled leaders are: Alauddin Moni, President of the Sechchhasebak Dal’s Sitakunda Upazila unit, Helal Uddin Babar, General Secretary of the same unit, Mamun, Convener of Sitakunda Municipality, and Momin Uddin Mintu, General Secretary of Jubo Dal’s Sonaichhari unit.

According to the BNP’s statement, these individuals engaged in violence, rioting, and road blockades in the Kadamrasul, Bhatiari Bazar, and Jalil Gate areas along the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway in Sitakunda, Chattogram North district, following the party’s nomination announcement.

For their actions, all four leaders have been expelled from all positions, including their primary membership in the party. The statement also noted that the expelled individuals are known associates of Aslam Chowdhury.
