Following the incident, the teachers’ union announced a protest march in front of the National Press Club at 11 a.m. on Thursday to press their demands.

Oikyajote Chairman Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman told reporters, “The Education Advisor behaved disrespectfully toward our delegation, which is an insult to the entire teaching community.”

He added, “Our program today was to submit a memorandum to the Education Advisor and discuss our demands. But we faced obstacles from law enforcement. Later, with police assistance, a 15-member delegation went to the Ministry of Education and submitted the memorandum.”

Expressing anger, Kazi Mokhlesur Rahman said, “We expected the Education Advisor to at least show courtesy. Instead, he refused to meet us and behaved in a humiliating manner. This is not only an insult to our delegation but to all teachers across the country.”

He announced that a protest rally will be held in front of the National Press Club at 11 a.m. Thursday, adding, “Such behavior toward teachers is unacceptable. The Education Advisor has disrespected the teaching community, and we are demanding his resignation.”

Meanwhile, teachers also urged the government to implement the nationalization announcement made on January 28 this year without further delay. They called for the approval of 1,089 institution files sent to the Office of the Chief Adviser by the Technical and Madrasa Education Department for MPO (Monthly Pay Order) inclusion.

Additional demands include: Publication of a notice for MPO applications for unaided recognized Ebtedayi Madrasas, Creation of pre-primary teaching posts similar to those in primary schools, and Establishment of a separate directorate for Ebtedayi Madrasas.
