The decision was taken at the full court meeting held on Tuesday (November 4), according to court sources.
Officials said the list of promoted judges will soon be forwarded to the Law Ministry for final approval. Once approved, the promoted judges will officially assume their new designations.
Meanwhile, the government has appointed 41 new Deputy Attorneys General (DAGs) and 67 Assistant Attorneys General (AAGs) to represent the state in cases at the Appellate Division and High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The appointments were made through a notification issued by the Solicitors Wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Tuesday (November 4), under the direction of the President.
Earlier in 2024, the President appointed Advocate Md. Asaduzzaman as Attorney General and three others as Additional Attorneys General. On August 13 of the same year, nine more lawyers were appointed as Deputy Attorneys General to strengthen the state’s legal representation in court.
