He said, "The oppression we have seen in the Awami League in the past 17 years, the same elements of oppression are being seen in a party in post-revolutionary Bangladesh. The nation is fed up with the corruption, terrorism, and extortion of their leaders and activists. This election will determine whether corruption, terrorism, extortion, disappearances, and murders will continue in the future Bangladesh or not."
He made these remarks at the youth festival and cultural program organized by the Dhaka-10 Constituency Committee at Rabindra Sarovar in Dhanmondi on Friday (January 23).
Warning the Election Commission, Asif Mahmud said, "Just as the students and the public have beaten the commissioners of the last three farce elections and handed them over to the police, if there is another farce election in Bangladesh, the students and the public will not sit quietly. Therefore, the current Commission will have to decide whether they will be impartial and conduct a free, fair, credible and acceptable election or suffer the consequences of Huda-Awal by holding a farce election."
He further said, "I believe that the people of Dhaka-10 constituency will not accept or accept any more terrorist, extortionist, corrupt leadership. For the purpose of change, the people of Dhaka-10 constituency will vote for the 10-party alliance nominated candidate Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar by a landslide." He himself, as a voter of Dhaka-10 constituency, declared his trust in Jasim Uddin Sarkar and urged the locals to also have faith in Jasim Uddin Sarkar.
Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar said, the oppression of the dictatorship for the past 15 years ended on August 5, 2024. The dictatorship did not just go away. More than two thousand students and the public were martyred in the July movement to bid farewell to the dictatorship. More than fifty thousand were injured and disabled. A fair, impartial, acceptable and credible election is very important in the new Bangladesh achieved by the students and the public. The people are eagerly waiting for that election. But if that election is a farce, the people will not accept it.
He said, "A level playing field must be ensured for all parties and candidates. It cannot be that some will be given all the facilities, including administrative facilities, while others will not be given any assistance. If this happens, a fair election will be questionable."
Jasim Uddin Sarkar said, Awami League seized power by offering rice for 10 taka per kg and door-to-door jobs, but no one got rice for 10 taka per kg, and people did not get jobs at home. Similarly, a party is now trying to come to power by offering various cards. If the 10-party alliance comes to power, it will not give allowances, employment will be created. Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in begging for allowances. Jamaat-e-Islami will develop the youth as entrepreneurs. In the future, foreign investment will come to this country through the hands of the youth. 40 percent of the youth of Bangladesh will be freed from unemployment.
Regarding his constituency, he said, there are various problems in Dhaka-10 parliamentary constituency including terrorists, extortion, squatters, juvenile gangs, footover bridges. He said that if elected, he will form a citizen committee and take initiatives to solve all the problems. Jasim Uddin Sarkar broke his promise to take steps at the state level to ensure the safety and security of people's lives and property.
