The information comes from a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday (November 16).

Among the fresh admissions, the highest number of patients were reported from Dhaka division outside the city corporation areas (246), followed by Dhaka North City (182) and Barisal division (181). Other divisions reporting new cases include Chittagong (141), Dhaka South City (118), Khulna (119), Mymensingh (96), Rajshahi (46), Rangpur (9), and Sylhet (1).

In the past 12 hours, 1,199 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals after receiving treatment. With this, the total number of recovered dengue patients this year has risen to 81,442.

According to the DGHS, a total of 84,997 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country since January, and 336 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year.

For comparison, in 2024, a total of 101,214 people were hospitalized with dengue from January to December 31, and 575 deaths were recorded. The year 2023 saw the highest dengue outbreak in the country’s history, with 321,179 hospitalizations and 1,705 fatalities.
