The data was revealed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday (November 23).

According to the DGHS, 778 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the last 12 hours. Of them, 83 were in Barisal division, 134 in Chittagong division, 121 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation areas), 129 in Dhaka North City, 81 in Dhaka South City, 112 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation areas), 44 in Mymensingh division, 48 in Rajshahi division, 19 in Rangpur division, and 7 in Sylhet division.

Meanwhile, 1,111 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country in the past 12 hours. With this, the total number of recoveries this year has reached 87,442.

Since January, a total of 90,264 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 364 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year.

For comparison, in 2024, 101,214 people were hospitalized due to dengue and 575 deaths were reported. The year 2023 saw the highest dengue fatalities in the country's history, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 hospitalizations.
