During the same period, 1,162 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide. The DGHS report said that among the new admissions, 163 were in Barisal division, 108 in Chattogram, 76 in Dhaka division (outside City Corporations), 261 in Dhaka North City, 175 in Dhaka South City, 154 in Khulna, 87 in Mymensingh, 98 in Rajshahi, and 8 in Sylhet division.

Meanwhile, 951 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country in the past 12 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 68,410.

According to the DGHS, since January 2025, 71,675 dengue patients have been hospitalized, and 283 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease so far this year.

For comparison, in 2024, a total of 101,214 people were hospitalized due to dengue, and 575 deaths were recorded. In 2023, the country saw its deadliest outbreak on record, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 hospitalizations.

Health authorities continue to urge citizens to take precautionary measures, including removing stagnant water, using mosquito repellents, and seeking immediate medical attention if symptoms such as high fever, headache, or body aches appear.
