According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, five units are currently working at the scene to bring the blaze under control, while three additional units are on their way to assist.

The fire service received information about the incident at around 11:40 am, and the first unit reached the spot at 11:56 am, officials said.

Confirming the matter, Talha Bin Jasim, an officer of the Fire Service Headquarters media cell, said, “A fire has broken out at a garment and chemical godown in the Shialbari area of Rupnagar, Mirpur. Five of our units are working at the scene, and three more are on their way.”

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined. So far, no casualties have been reported.

Firefighters continue efforts to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby establishments.
