He made the statement while speaking to journalists after a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order held at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Secretariat on Sunday (November 9) afternoon.
“The reports circulating about the withdrawal of army personnel are entirely baseless. Fifty percent of the members deployed for law and order duties are not being removed. No such decision has been made,” the Home Affairs Advisor said.
Responding to a question about whether the government is concerned over the Awami League’s announced programs, Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “The government is not worried about the lockdown or shutdown programs they have announced.”
