According to officials, the Fire Service received the emergency call at 4:42 pm on Monday (December 1).
Fire Service Media Officer Anwarul Islam said, “A fire broke out on the third floor of a three-story residential building in Chawkbazar. Upon receiving the information, four units rushed to the spot, and three additional units later joined the operation.”
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined.
Earlier, at 3:40 pm, a fire erupted in a six-story residential building in the Mohammadpur area. Two Fire Service units managed to bring that fire under control by 4:25 pm.
No casualties were reported in either incident at the time of reporting.
