According to the latest update from the BMD, light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds are expected to occur in many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. A few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions may also experience similar weather, with moderately heavy to heavy rainfall predicted over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.
The department also stated that both day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
In addition, the BMD has advised the maritime ports of Chittagong, Mongla, and Payra to lower their signals, in line with the weather update.
In the past 24 hours leading up to 6 PM on Saturday, the highest temperature recorded was 35.4°C in Chuadanga, while the lowest temperature was 23.7°C in Bandarban, recorded at 6 AM on Friday.
The highest rainfall of 105mm was recorded in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong district during the 24 hours leading up to 6 AM on Sunday.
The axis of the monsoon trough is currently running through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam, passing across the central part of Bangladesh, with one of its associated troughs extending up to the North Bay.
The BMD has stated that the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
