The information was confirmed in an official notification signed by Md. Nawsad Hossain, Director (Administration and Human Resources) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, on Saturday (October 18).
According to the notification, the Chief (Flight Safety) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. A representative from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism will also serve as a member.
Other members include the General Manager (Corporate Safety and Quality), Chief Engineer (Quality Assurance), Deputy General Manager (Security), Deputy General Manager (Cargo-Export), and Deputy Manager (Insurance).
The committee has been tasked with identifying the cause of the fire, evaluating the damage incurred, determining accountability, and providing recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The committee’s report must be submitted to the Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines within the next five working days. The directive came into immediate effect, the notification added.
