Time Digital Report: The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party has suspended its scheduled road-march programme at 2:00pm on Thursday in Dhaka, considering devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
BNP press wing member Shamsuddin Didar, in a message on early Thursday, said that the party’s Dhaka Metropolitan South unit suspended the programme following an advice of the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said that the revised date for postponed road march programme would be informed later.
On Tuesday, BNP announced that it would hold road-march in Dhaka on February 9 and February 12.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruq, on the other hand, had earlier requested the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and other political and professional organisations not to hold their programmes in the capital on workings days.
