Potato

Potatoes are a staple in our homes. There are so many dishes that can be made with this vegetable. But never store potatoes in the refrigerator. Whether you prefer them boiled, mashed, or fried, potatoes are best at room temperature, so don't store this vegetable in the refrigerator. Otherwise, it will become hard before you can cook it. Cold temperatures can turn starch into sugar much faster than warm foods, and that's not good news for potato lovers! Store potatoes in a dry place in your kitchen.

Banana

Bananas do not keep well in the cold of the refrigerator. In fact, the cold of the refrigerator speeds up the process of blackening bananas. To get the most out of bananas, buy them before they are fully ripe and let them ripen naturally at room temperature in your kitchen. Bananas are great for controlling blood pressure, so eat them at room temperature.

Watermelon

Like bananas, watermelons don't do well in the cold, as refrigeration can speed up their spoilage. Since watermelons are available in the summer, it's tempting to eat them chilled, but they last longer at room temperature. If you buy a whole watermelon, share it with everyone and eat it quickly. If you want to store it, keep it at room temperature.

Onion

Interestingly, onions and potatoes can spoil quickly if kept together. To keep both fresh, store them in separate areas of your kitchen and most importantly, keep them out of the refrigerator! Onions thrive in warm climates and need proper air circulation to stay fresh.

Coffee

Coffee needs proper ventilation and a dry environment to stay fresh. The refrigerator only holds cold, humid air and other food odors. Some people may store coffee in the refrigerator, but to be honest, that's not the right way to do it!
