The information was confirmed in a press release signed by DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman on Monday.

According to the statement, arrests were made across several DMP divisions two in Ramna, four in Mirpur, 13 in Cyber, four in Motijheel, one in Wari, one in Uttara, one in Tejgaon, three in Lalbagh, and five in Gulshan.

Among those detained are Advocate Belal Hossain (60), former presidium member of the banned Jubo League; Mahbubul Alam Palash, member of Dhanbari Upazila Jubo League, Tangail; Md. Khokon Mia (43), member of Ward 18, Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League; Tanjim Ibrahim (26), vice-president of Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra League; Sajjatul Islam Tushar (34), joint secretary of Dhaka South Awami League; and Md. Abdus Sobhan (53), information secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Swechchhasebak League.

Others include Shakil Ahmed Jewel alias Babu, former president of the Shantinagar Bazar Committee Jubo League; Md. Adam Ali (42), leader of the Dhaka Metropolitan Hawkers League; and Sarwar Hossain (58), an active member of Dhaka Metropolitan Chhatra League, along with several other current and former leaders of Awami League-affiliated bodies.

Also arrested were individuals linked to party units in Tangail, Shariatpur, Munshiganj, Barguna, Feni, and Lakshmipur. The DB said these suspects are active workers or former office-bearers of the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, Krishak League, and Swechchhasebak League.

The DB statement further alleged that all the detainees were directly involved in the recent sudden procession in Dhaka, which police claim disrupted public order and security. Legal action is being taken against them at the respective police stations under charges of sabotage and activities harmful to public safety.
