Day 1: BNP’s Labour Day Rally (May 1)

On Thursday, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold a workers' rally at Nayapaltan to mark International Workers' Day.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend as the chief guest, while the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to join virtually.
Party activists from neighboring districts, including Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Manikganj, and Tangail, are expected to join the event in the capital.

Day 2: NCP Protest Against Awami League (May 2)

On Friday, the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) will stage a mass protest in front of the southern gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The rally will call for the deregistration of the Awami League and a ban on its political activities.

Day 3: Hefazat-e-Islam Grand Rally (May 3)

On Saturday, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh will organize a grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan to press several demands.

The event will be presided over by Maulana Junayed Al Habib, Senior Joint Secretary General of the group and convener of the rally’s organizing committee.

Key demands include:

  • Withdrawal of over 300 legal cases filed against Hefazat leaders and activists
  • Justice for those killed during the May 5, 2013 Shapla Chattar crackdown, and other incidents in March 2021 and 2024
  • Abolition of the National Commission on Women’s Reforms
  • Reinstatement of “faith and trust in Allah” in the preamble of the Constitution
  • Protests against the oppression of Muslims in Palestine and India

With three major rallies scheduled across central locations, authorities are expected to implement heightened security and traffic control measures to manage the anticipated large gatherings and ensure public safety.
