Addressing Tarique Rahman’s earlier remarks, he wrote: “Tarique Rahman said today that the opportunity to decide on returning to the country is not currently open to him and is not under his sole control.” In response, Shafiqul Alam clarified that the government has not imposed any bar or objection to his return.
The press secretary further noted that Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has already expressed deep concern over the deteriorating physical condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and has requested prayers from the nation for her recovery.
