According to university sources, Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor and Raksu President Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib will administer the oath to the Raksu and Senate representatives, while the respective Hall Provosts will administer the oath to the Hall Parliament representatives.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday afternoon, Professor Setaur Rahman, Treasurer and Chief Returning Officer of Raksu, said, “The gazette of the elected candidates from Raksu, Hall Parliament, and Senate student representative elections will be published tonight. The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the Senate Building on October 26 at 4:30 pm.”
He added that the Raksu and Senate representatives will be sworn in by Professor Naqib, while the Hall Parliament representatives will take their oaths from the respective provosts, who served as returning officers during the elections.
When asked about the allocation of funds for the newly elected delegates, Professor Rahman said, “I cannot specify the amount right now. It will depend on the remaining budget after calculating all the expenses.”
Earlier, the elections for Raksu, Hall Parliament, and Senate student representatives were held on October 16. In that election, Mostaqur Rahman (Zahid), the Vice-President (VP) candidate from the Sammilit Chhatra Jote panel backed by Chhatra Shibir, won the VP post, while Salahuddin Ammar from the Anti-Hegemony Unity panel was elected General Secretary (GS).
