Formal complaint filed against 7 leaders including Quader, Arafat

The prosecution has filed a formal complaint against seven individuals, including Awami League General Secretary and former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, over alleged involvement in the July–August 24 massacre.

The complaint was submitted to the Registrar of International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Thursday (December 18) morning. Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim confirmed the development.

The other accused are Awami League Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, and Chhatra League General Secretary Wali Asif Inan.

According to the prosecution, the investigation into the allegations against the seven accused has already been completed. The completion of the investigation was officially announced on December 8.

Earlier, Obaidul Quader was barred from political activities following accusations related to the same incident.
