Time Digital Report: Four persons were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between an ambulance and an excavator in Gopalganj Sadar upazila this morning.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police and fire officials said the dead are passengers and driver of the ambulance, which was heading to Dhaka from Khulna.

Javed Masud, officer-in-charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, said the accident took place around 6:45am at Miapara area on Dhaka-Khulna Highway.

Four people died and four others were injured, he said.

Ariful Haque, senior station officer of Gopalganj Sadar Fire Station, said on information, two firefighting units rushed there and conducted the rescue operation.

The injured were taken to District Sadar Hospital, he added.
