Labu gets AL nomination in Faridpur-2 by-polls

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General and head of its media department, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, has said that the political equation ahead of the upcoming national election is not yet final, as there is still time for candidates to withdraw their nominations.

The Election Commission (EC) has declared valid the nomination paper of Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad for Cox's Bazar-4 constituency.

BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi has filed a petition seeking the cancellation of the nomination of Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) in the southern region and the Jamaat–NCP alliance candidate for the Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency. In response, Hasnat Abdullah has also submitted a counter-petition requesting the cancellation of Manjurul Ahsan Munshi’s candidacy.

Election officials have rejected the nomination papers of Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, a hopeful for the Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency in the upcoming national polls.

Clashes broke out between two factions of the BNP over a dispute over the party's nomination for the Mymensingh-3 (Gauripur) constituency. Several business establishments, including a stage, were attacked and vandalized during the clash. At least 20 people from both sides were injured in the clash. The clash took place in the Patbazar area of ​​Gauripur municipality on Sunday (November 9) evening.
