The announcement was made at a press conference held on Thursday (January 15) at 8:00 pm at the Diploma Engineers Institute in the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher disclosed the details on behalf of the alliance.
According to the agreement, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will contest 179 seats, while the National Citizen Party (NCP) will field candidates in 30 seats. Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis has been allotted 20 seats, Khelafat Majlis 10 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) seven seats, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) three seats, Bangladesh Nejam-e-Islam Party two seats, and Bangladesh Development Party two seats.
Seat allocations for the Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) and the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement have not yet been finalized. The alliance also said that discussions on seat sharing with the Islamic Movement of Bangladesh are still ongoing.
The press conference began with an opening speech by Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque and was moderated by Assistant Secretary General and 11-Party Alliance Coordinator Hamidur Rahman Azad.
Among those present at the event were Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Nayeb Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, NCP Convener Nahid Islam, LDP leader Oli Ahad, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Jalaluddin Ahmed, Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmed Abdul Quader, Bangladesh Khilafat Movement Secretary General Yusuf Sadiq Haqqani, Bangladesh Nejam-e-Islam Party Senior Nayeb Ameer Maulana Abdul Majed Athari, JAGPA Spokesperson Rashed Pradhan, and other senior leaders of the alliance.
