In a statement issued on Saturday (January 10), Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former lawmaker Mia Golam Parwar alleged that a vested interest group is deliberately destabilizing the LPG market, causing widespread suffering to consumers.
“Despite sufficient LPG stocks in the country, an artificial crisis is being created in a planned manner. Such inhumane and anti-public activities are completely unacceptable,” the statement said.
He further noted that attempts to raise prices and disrupt the market through artificial shortages are having serious adverse effects on the national economy and the daily lives of people, particularly the lower- and middle-income groups.
Calling on the authorities to act immediately, Mia Golam Parwar urged the government to restore discipline in the LPG market and ensure strict legal measures against those involved in hoarding, market manipulation, and unethical business practices.
He also emphasized the need for stronger market monitoring, warning that without exemplary punishment for those responsible, similar crises would continue to recur.
The Jamaat leader urged people from all walks of life to remain vigilant and to build united resistance against any activities that go against public interest.
