Time News Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami strongly condemned and protested against the dissolution of the existing Board of Trust of Manarat International University and the reconstitution of a new Board of Trust and all the talks related to the party.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Msum said in a statement on Thursday.

In the statement, he said, 'As far as we know, Manarat International University is a university established under the Private University Act. We know that the educational program is conducted according to the specific curriculum in this university. Although there are various allegations of corruption and money embezzlement against the administration of various universities in the country, there is no complaint against Manarat International University. No complaint or objection has been raised about the educational program of the university from the students, parents, and teachers of the university. While the Manarat International University was being run with a great reputation, on September 8, the existing Board of Trust of Manarat International University was dissolved and reconstituted with a new Board of Trust that is totally unfair and outside legal jurisdiction.'

He said that the activities of Jamaat-Shibir and terrorism, militancy, and anti-state activities mentioned in the government statement are completely false. We would like to make it clear that Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir have been carrying out their activities in a systematic and democratic process since their inception. Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have nothing to do with any kind of terrorism, militancy, extremism, or extremism. Such statements have been made only to capture the university.

He also said that the occupation of Manarat University is just a continuation of the government's activities of occupying various financial institutions and educational institutions. We strongly condemn and protest this unilateral unjust, illegal, and extrajudicial action and call for the withdrawal of this decision.”
